Trending Slip Dress

Hi gorgeous,

Firstly and foremost, let me start by wishing you all a Happy New Year! I know it’s mid February now but I don’t think it’s ever late for New Year greetings. ha

Finally putting up a blog post after what seems to be a long hiatus.

In the spirit of the ongoing V day celebration, I thought I should write about one of the current trending looks I am absolutely loving and also suitable for this occasion! Can you guess what it is?

That’s right Hun, I am talking about the Slip Dresses. If you ask me to choose a look every girl needs in her wardrobe, I think Slip Dresses will be at the top of my list and why not, they are easy to put on, you can wear them as it is or add a little cute top inside it. It’s so versatile as you can wear it either as a day or evening look. OK, not to get to carried away, here are my top 5 slip dresses and where to shop for them.

  1. Your Hiss is My Command Snake Midi Dress

Can I just start by saying the price of this Nastygal dress is everything. 🙌🏽 Ladies where do I start, this dress is perfect for all skin tones, which is the second thing I look for before buying any outfit. The print which is currently trending features a snake print throughout, V-neckline, midi silhouette, and high slits at front. Yes y’all its #hella cute! This dress is currently on sales for €20.40.

2. River Island Black polka dot frill hem slip dress

So by now you can pretty much guess the type of styles and patterns I am attracted to. Am I right!? I was so captivated by the bold polka-dot print on this dress that I instantly pictured myself wearing it. The lightweight woven fabric is perfect for this season. It also has adjustable cami shoulder straps for the obvious reasons. This dress is currently out of stock, however it also comes in beige leopard print color. which is currently in stock and can be bought for the price of €37.

AW 18 Trending : Snake Print Style

Hi darlings! It’s been about a minute, but I am back now. Hehe

So, I took a long break, vacationing and whatnot. You can check out what I was up to on my insta-page @stephstyleguide. I promise it’s the perfect excuse. 😉

Reverting to today’s topic, #Snakeprintstyle

I initially had no intention of participating in this trend simply because I am not the biggest fan of Reptiles or anything that crawls, but the more I come across the different style patterns being composed out of the prints the more I keep falling for it and can’t stop buying it. (Can you blame me though?)

The good thing about this trend is that like the Summer 18 polka dot trend, it is bound to make a comeback. So, while animal prints slowly fizzle away into something new, you can pack up yours confidently knowing that it shall return someday.

Today’s Look:

I styled this look three ways like I always do.

First look was simply wearing the outfit as it is. The only change made was the belt which came with the jumpsuit, I ended up switching it for a Bumbag from Topshop. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the belt that came with the outfit, but I also wanted to brighten up the look without taking too much attention from it. I paired this look with black heels bought on sales from AKIRA.

Before I continue, can we just appreciate how gorgeous this jumpsuit is guys? It is one of those items you can keep in your wardrobe knowing that next time you wear it, you can create a whole new look with it.

My second look was all about casual styling. Playing with colours, I added a red blazer which I bought from Zara two seasons back to the snake-skin print Jumpsuit. To add a casual feel to this look I dressed it down with Adidas Trainers. What do you think of the casual look?

Being inspired by my first two looks I decided to go a step further by adding the stunning pearl kimono I had gotten from AKIRA summer sales and the same Bumbag I wore earlier. Yes darlings, I am always on the lookout for new bargains and thankfully I always tend to find it somehow. #igotyoucovered #stickwithmebabes

So babes, what do you think of my three looks? Would you have styled it differently or is it perfectly done? If you could style it in a different way, what would it have been?

Ok, so I have been holding on to these pictures for a while now waiting for the right time to post this look, 4 weeks down the line and I think it is probably about time don’t you think!? ha

Also did anyone else notice how the 70s style is seriously going strong this year! I mean, late last year we saw the return of this style in both Men and Women fashion but this year it looks like it is on another level. In the space of 5 months we have already worn or still wearing flared pants, roll neck sweater, denim, and suede fabric. I am not complaining though, this retro trend is uniquely fashionable, and I am embracing every moment of it.

Back to the look;
I have always wanted flare trousers to add to my collection, but I didn’t know I was going to hit the jackpot when I stumbled upon this stunning 70s styled flared trousers from H&M. All I need now is ‘That ’70s show’ to return and I think I might just fit right in! ha.
Finding the perfect shade to go with this trouser was easy since it was a warm cream colour, so I knew pairing it with vibrant colour such as red would do the job. I paired this trouser with a red sweater top (no longer available) from Topshop, red blazer jacket from Zara and metallic gold shoes from Riverisland.

What do you guys think of this look? would you rock or skip it? if you aren’t feeling the flare in Jeans, H&M also has similar style in Corduroy which I might add is fabulous, do check out the site for amazing SS18 collections.

#OOTD In Search of Spring!

The calendar may say “spring,” but that doesn’t mean the weather is letting up any time soon. So as we sulk at the thought of continuous layering and heavy coat that seems to never end, we can always use our imagination to pretend spring has indeed sprung on us. Today’s look features the current trending Baker Boy Hat and the ongoing Basket – Weave Bag trend that just won’t quit.

By the way, I am currently on the look out for more affordable basket – weave bags to feature on my blog, so get ready to feast your eyes on some gorgeous delights!! 🙂

Back to my current look! While preparing for the shoot I initially intended on leaving the heavy coat behind to create a more spring vibe look but the freezing weather had a different plan for me. Luckily, I was able to get few shots without the coat which I was happy with. That being said I definitely think I will be holding onto my fur for as long as I can, well, until the weather lightens up. #sorrydonatella (this isn’t a real fur though so it’s ok ha!!

STYLE TIP:

So, I am in love with this outfit and couldn’t be more excited that I can style the entire look two ways!

The First look was casual, keeping it simple yet cute enough for that errand runs.

Second look was simply to glam up the casual look for a night out. Either way, I wanted to show that you can easily dress up any look by simply choosing the right pair of heels, accessories that compliments that look and the right attitude.

#OOTD Corduroy Jacket

Hey darlings!! So I know I haven’t been posting lately…. it’s been a seriously slow Month but I really need to pick my blog game and boost it up again! Meanwhile behind the scene, I have been embracing the 70s style.

Yes ladies and Gents, it’s back to the vintage for me. ‘Out with the old and in with the new old baby’!! What do you guys think of this Corduroy Jacket? I initially had my eye on a different colour of this bad boy but after series of fitting room try on I went with the green colour. I am glad I did though because I can easily style this jacket with practically anything.

For today’s #ootd I went for a classic chic but retro look. Pairing this jacket with my favourite holiday shorts from H&M and thigh high boots from ASOS.
